Four-star QB talks about main schools

Four-star Deerfield Beach (Fla.) quarterback Brent Schaeffer has been one of the summer’s fastest rising prospects at his positions.
Schaeffer (6-3, 190, 4.5) has drawn more than a two dozen scholarship offers, but is focused on a handful of schools heading into his senior season.

“My main schools are Notre Dame, Auburn, Iowa State, Michigan, N.C. State, USF and Purdue,” he said. “They aren’t in any order, but those are the main ones because of the coaches or the style of offense they run.
“I’m looking for an offense where they like to spread things out and the quarterback is in control. I really like Iowa State, Purdue and USF for that.”
Schaeffer, Rivals.com's No. 8 dual-threat quarterback in the nation, was a second-team All-Broward County selection by the Miami Herald last season after passing for 2,574 yards and 31 touchdowns with only five interceptions. He also rushed for 538 yards and 15 scores, displaying his ability to dominate a game with both his arm and his legs.
An intelligent player, he is projected as a full-qualifier with a 3.1 GPA and a 900 on the SAT.
Schaeffer has yet to decide where he may visit this fall.
“It’s too early to say. I’ve got to do some more research, watch some games and talk to the coaches again before I decide,” he said.
