Four-star prospect sets first visit

Recruits talk about different things that draw them to a college. Usually they talk about facilities, some academics, and others talk about playing time. For Laurence Maroney it’s definitely about being on the field.
“I want to play right away,” Maroney said. “I don’t want to red-shirt. I want to be on the field.”

Most of the schools are consistent on Maroney’s list except for a new name creeping up.
“Kansas State has started to recruit me harder,” he said. “They are coming into the picture.”
Maroney, 5-11, 200, ran times under 4.4 at division one camps this summer has set his first official visit. He said he will visit Missouri on December 6.
He has offers from Missouri, Minnesota, and Illinois. Both Michigan State and Wisconsin said offers are coming. For now, Maroney wants to be patient in the process.
“No team is really number one or two yet,” he said. “I’m looking at all of them. I will start setting more visits after the season.”
