Four-star previews commitment

Running back Robert Washington had a long list of offers but has pared them down to six. Now the new Mount Holly (N.C.) East Gaston star is ready to announce his commitment on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET.
Alabama, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Syracuse and TCU are the final schools Washington is considering but he says each has an equal chance of getting picked on Saturday. There is plenty he likes about each school.

Alabama- "They're "Running Back U' and they have a great support staff," said the 5-foot-10, 215-pound Washington. "They play top-notch football. I went there when I was younger. They built a new weight room since I was there and it's beautiful. Alabama has great facilities, great coaching and it's a great school."
Florida- "I've been in touch with coach Skip a lot," he said. "We talk on social media and I call him. I know they got a few running backs but I think it's a great opportunity. They would have four running backs and two are definitely going to play so it's really for me to step up and make a difference in the program. I was there last summer in July after the Rivals Camp. I talk to Will Grier a lot we used to hang out together. Gainesville is a beautiful place.
Michigan- "I like coach Harbaugh," Washington said. "He knows how to produce a pro running back. Michigan has a great educational program and coach Wheatley is one of the tops in the country. I've been there five times already."
North Carolina- "I have a great relationship with all the guys at UNC, from coach Brewer to coach Fedora," he said. "It's a beautiful campus and I've been up there multiple times. I just keep wanting to go back because it's so amazing. They boast a great education, especially pre-med."
Syracuse- "I've been talking to Syracuse for a very long time," said Washington. "They were my first ACC offer. They've been recruiting for the entire process. It's a great place and they're trying to build their program. They have a need for big time players at every position, especially running back. There's a good opportunity for me to start."
TCU- "I'm friends with a lot of guys in Texas and coach Luper and coach P are great," he said. "They have a great program. I watch Ladianian Tomlinson when he was going through college. My philosophy is that if the school fits me, I will go there no matter how far it is from home."
Last season Washington ran for about 2,300 yards and 30 touchdowns.
