MIAMI – People wear clothes.

That fact extends to recruits. Sometimes the logo on a garment makes a statement about the prospect’s recruitment. Other times, that statement is simply “this was clean.” Wardrobe dissecting is one of the stranger corners of an incredibly complex world.

So when four-star defensive back Nadab Joseph, and LSU commit, showed up at his team’s spring game in a Florida State sweatshirt, he was probed.

“I just like red,” Joseph said with a grin.

Still, the Hialeah (Fla.) Champagnat Catholic star won’t deny the fact that he’s considering the Seminoles. He considerers his commitment to LSU to be strong. He attended the Tigers’ spring game and will return this summer. FSU, however, is also on his travel agenda.

“I’m for sure going back to LSU and probably FSU,” Joseph said. “I think I’m going to visit Georgia too.”

And while Joseph seems to have strong interest in all three of the schools he mentioned as visit destinations, it’s clear that the Seminoles are running in second place brined the Tigers. The four-star prospect is happy with his standing as an LSU commit, sure, but he also sees the allure of Tallahassee.

“I’m thinking about them for sure,” Joseph said. “There’s a lot of stuff there for me, like family and all that. They stay on my mind, but I like LSU. I’m committed. The campus is real good. It’s real nice.”

According to Joseph, LSU will play him at his preferred position of cornerback, while some other schools are hoping to play him at safety.

IN HIS WORDS: “LSU is telling me to just keep working and telling me how they really want me and all that.”

RIVALS REACTION: Joseph stuck with LSU through the coaching change, so prying him away will be difficult. That said, this summer could make all the difference. Another impressive trip to Tallahassee could tighten the race, while Georgia could enter the fray should Joseph enjoy his time in Athens. FSU and LSU will likely find themselves jostling for the Rivals250 prospect until Signing Day. This could go either way.
