Four-star lineman has leader, top four

A leader and top four have emerged for one of the Peach State’s top prospects.
Four-star offensive guard Michael Brown of Atlanta Westlake says LSU is the team to beat at this point.

“Ever since their camp this summer, I’ve really liked them a lot,” he said. “It was just a really cool place. I loved the atmosphere, the people down there. The coaches and players were real nice, people I feel like I could fit in with.”
Brown (6-5, 270, 4.9) said Georgia, Michigan and Texas round out his current top four. He has scholarship offers from each school, so how does he go about differentiating such outstanding programs?
“I mainly look at the atmosphere – like I said about LSU – and the depth chart, trying to see if I’ll have a chance to start early,” he said.
Brown is rated the No. 10 guard in the nation by Rivals.com, but is being recruited as a defensive tackle as well. His big frame and quick feet make him an attractive prospect on both sides of the line.
He said Auburn and Virginia still have a shot to crack his final list of schools if he elects to take five visits.
Academically, Brown maintains a 2.7 GPA and has scored an 810 on his first SAT attempt. He's on schedule to be a qualifier.
