Four-star LB sets up first visit

Longview, Texas, linebacker Marvin Byrdsong has scheduled his first official visit, but surprisingly it’s not to a school that he has mentioned that much previously.
Byrdsong, who is a Rivals100 selection and considered the top linebacker prospect in the state of Texas, has scheduled a visit for Jan. 11 to Arkansas.

Texas, Mississippi State, LSU and Texas A&M are also in the hunt, as is Florida State.
Byrdsong says he could have a visit lined up with the Seminoles as soon as this week.
“Their coach is supposed to get back to me later this week,” Byrdsong explained. “They’re going to let me know when it’s a good time to visit.”
Byrdsong, who is 6-foot-3, 235 pounds and has 4.5-second 40-yard dash speed, has registered 97 tackles in seven games this season while playing inside linebacker for the Lobos.
The blue chipper declined to mention a favorite among his choices.
