Four-star LB sets first official

Four-star linebacker Van Stumon out of North Little Rock, Ark. has scheduled his first official visit with the Big Ten. What made the 6-foot-2, 238-pounder decide on the Boilermakers and who else is Stumon considering for his other official visits?
"I'm going to Purdue on December 3rd and I'm planning to schedule visits to Arkansas and Arkansas State sometime in December also," he said. "I like Purdue and might consider going there because of how their defense plays. They let their ends and linebackers blitz a lot and that's what I like to do. I also really like coach Mitchell, my recruiter. He keeps it real, doesn't lie and even tells me what to look for from other schools to help me decide."

The Rivals250 prospect isn't sure who else will offer or get his other officials, but one school has been showing interest.
"Iowa has been talking to me a lot, but they haven't directly said anything about an offer yet."
Last Friday North Little Rock won the first round of the playoffs 13-0 against Forrest City.
"I did pretty well in the game with five tackles, 60 yards of offense and a touchdown," he said. "I think our team has a good chance this year. Sometimes we lack focus, but if everyone can come together we can win.
This week Stumon and the Charging Wildcats play Northside.
