Location and playing time were very important among those reasons.
"Ohio State is close to home," Gibson said. "That was the biggest reason.
And when asked if the graduation of all three Buckeye starting linebackers was a factor in his decision, Gibson said, "Most definitely."
Gibson made official visits to Ohio State, Tennessee, and Michigan before selecting the Buckeyes.
"It really came down to Ohio State and Tennessee," Gibson said.
Gibson said he feels he is making great progress towards qualifying academically. He took the SAT on Jan. 28 and will take the ACT again Feb. 11.
The 6-foot-3 and 205-pound Gibson had 14 sacks during his senior season. He is the No. 9 outside linebacker in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 6 prospect in the state of Ohio.
