Four-star LB has Florida trip set

One of the nation’s top linebackers is heating things up in the recruiting world and he’s also heating it up on the football field. So what’s the latest with four-star linebacker Javier Estopinan of Miami South Miami?
Estopinan said he’s been working hard on the field and it’s produced successful results.

“We’re off to a 2-1 start, and I’m pleased with that,” Estopinan, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 14 inside linebacker, said. “I would rather be undefeated but we’re winning, so that’s the biggest thing. I have 35 tackles, six tackles for a loss and caused a couple of fumbles, so I guess that’s not all that bad.”
What’s even more impressive about Estopinan’s play is that he’s doing all of this on a sprained ankle.
“It hurts like heck, but it’s just really twisted bad,” he said. “I don’t think you’re going to keep me out of anything. I want to win that bad.”
Estopinan said things are also going well on the recruiting front. He’s lined up one official visit so far to Florida for November 28 and is also looking hard at visiting Florida State, Ohio State, Miami and N.C. State.
“Florida is a good up-and-coming program,” he said. “I got a chance to see Miami and Florida play earlier this year and that was wild. I loved how both teams played really hard. Ohio State is the defending national champions, and I like their style of defense. N.C. State has a bunch of guys from Florida, so I can get along with those guys when I got up and visit.”
