Four star LB favoring Tigers

Fairfield (Ala.) linebacker Rex Sharpe was recently named a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and is the No. 16 rated outside linebacker in the country. He was originally scheduled to camp at Georgia this weekend. Did he make it to Athens?
“No, I didn’t get to go to camp at Georgia and I was a little disappointed about that,” Sharpe said. “The reason I did not go was a transportation issue. The only camp I have been to so far is the Auburn camp, and since practice is so close I probably won’t go to any others.’

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Sharpe runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, has a 235-pound bench press and a 495-pound squat.
“Right now my top five is Auburn, LSU, Louisville, Georgia and Ole Miss,” he said. “Alabama still hasn’t offered and I am pretty much knocking them off of my list until they do offer. I would have to say that Auburn is still my leader.”
Sharpe racked up 143 tackles, 22 tackles-for-loss, three sacks and one interception as a junior. He also plays wide receiver on offense, tallying approximately 40 catches for 480 yards and six touchdowns.
“I’m looking to play for a school with a lot of tradition,” Sharpe said. “I want to play in a program where the coaches and players are all like a family. I just want to take all of my visits and then make a decision sometime after the season.”
