Four-star Jones says Tigers

Four-star offensive tackle Jarvis Jones has been to LSU only once and that was for a camp stop this past summer. However, that one trip to Baton Rouge and the way the Tigers have recruited him made a difference. All that equaled a commitment just days ago.
The Rivals250 member from Rosenberg (Texas) Lamar Consolidated decided to not wait any longer in making his final decision. Despite receiving scholarship offers from many schools such as Arizona, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and others, the 6-foot-7, 250-pounder is headed to the SEC.

"I committed to LSU a few days ago," Jones said. "I just felt like it was the best place for me. They've got great coaches, a great school, and a good team. I just feel like it's a school and a program that is going places. It's a program on the rise and I felt good being a part of that.
"I felt comfortable with them, so I decided to go ahead and do it."
Jones, the nation's No. 15 rated offensive tackle, had previously taken official visits to Iowa and Arizona. His next one will be his last to LSU later this month on Dec. 15.
"I'm taking an official visit later this month," Jones said. "That's going to be it for me. I don't think I'll take any other trips."
Jones was recruited by LSU coach Larry Porter.
