Rahshead Johnson is probably more familiar with the new USC coaching staff than anyone else in the class.
The Long Beach (Calif.) Cabrillo four-star wide receiver was committed to Washington for a long time, and now with many of those coaches now at USC - and with him committed to the Trojans - there is a certain comfort level with them.
Still, during his official visit this past weekend, Johnson learned even more things about them and the USC program in particular.
"It was a good visit," Johnson said. "I got to learn some new stuff about SC. I didn't even know that was a private school and I learned a lot of new things about it so SC was fun.
"I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches. I got to talk with Tee Martin a lot and I've been talking to him since Lane (Kiffin) was there. He always wanted to offer me, so that was good because I've been talking to him for a long time."
The four-star committed early in his recruitment to Washington, but after USC offered in the last few months, Johnson had a change of heart.
USC hired coach Steve Sarkisian from Washington and he brought a bunch of his staff with him, so Johnson is really familiar with his surroundings.
"It's good because I get to stay home," Johnson said. "It's the same thing as up there, but now they're in SC stuff. That's how I look at it. I'm used to them having a big 'W' on their chest.
"Right now it sounds like they just want me to come in as an athlete and play both sides of the ball. I have no problem with doing that. I'm done taking visits. I'm waiting for signing day so I can put it in the books."
