Jeremiah Criddell spent a valuable chunk of time on the road in the last few weeks, taking trips to Alabama and Washington and both places offered something special.

His last stop was in Tuscaloosa and it was definitely a memorable experience for the 2019 four-star cornerback from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

“It was an overall great experience,” Criddell said. “It was a really long trip so there is a lot to say but pretty much the highlights of it was getting coached by Nick Saban and the coaching staff and going out of my comfort zone.

“It was a lot different that in the West, the weather and the talent was different also. There wasn’t a lot of dancing off the line. It was get straight to it, get straight to your route. It was a lot different and a real grind. We were waking up pretty early and we were grinding every day right when we got on the field.

“It helped me overall. It made me bring back some dog to my team and helped me as a leader.”

The message from Alabama’s coaching staff really stuck with him.

“The coaching staff was great,” said Criddell, who landed an offer from Alabama on the trip. “They really expressed that everything you do on the field has to be fast and physical. Everything has to be violent, out of your breaks, everything has to be violent. Everything has to be fast.”

Prior to the Alabama trip, Criddell went to Washington and that trip left a big impression. The Huskies should definitely remain one of the frontrunners as the four-star goes through his recruitment.

He even spent some time working on offense.

“The UDub staff was great,” Criddell said. “Getting coached by coach (Jimmy) Lake was great. I was also playing receiver up there with coach (Matt) Lubick. Both of them are really good.

“Coach Lake is really smart with his technique and he spends a lot of time studying film and making sure his techniques work. Coach Lubick is a different type of receivers coach. He knows really good routes and how to run them the right way. He knows what he’s doing.”

The 2019 four-star cornerback said it’s still in the early stages of his recruitment but that Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are some schools standing out at this point.
