Four-star impressed with Cal trip

Justin Davis has been taking some trips to find out which schools he favors and this weekend's visit to Cal went well enough that the Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln running back will consider returning in the coming months.
The four-star standout who rushed for 2,380 yards and 36 touchdowns in his junior season said he had a great time in Berkeley, loved the facilities and the coaching staff and wants to keep the Golden Bears on his list.

"I was really impressed by all the new stuff they're doing and their weight room was amazing," Davis said. "I've never seen anything like that. I got to see all their new facilities, check out how the stadium is going and meet with the coaches to see how comfortable I am with them.
"It was really cool to visit with them. I got to see their coaching philosophy. They're all about business. The past 11 running backs over 14 years have gone to the NFL so (assistant coach Ron Gould) was telling me how he coaches and how he interacts with the players.
"It definitely interests me to take another visit in the spring. It makes me interested in them and they really impressed me with what they're doing down there."
USC remains the favorite for Davis, rated No. 48 in the early 2013 rankings by Rivals.com, after he was offered by the Trojans and visited for their junior day only a couple weeks ago.
Still, Davis wants to take his time and take some more visits before making any kind of decision.
"Of course they have one of the most successful teams," Davis said. "That jumped out to me and so did the coaching staff. It's USC basically."
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect might visit UCLA for its junior day next weekend but that is still undetermined. He'll try to take trips to Stanford and Washington and then USC and UCLA sometime in the spring.
Davis said his latest offer is from Arizona State and he's started to receive interest from Florida and Notre Dame.
