Four-star impressed with Big Blue

Four-star wide receiver Markques Simas (6-1, 195, 4.55) from San Diego (Calif.) Mira Mesa took his first official visit this past weekend and visited Big Blue of Michigan.
"I went to Michigan and it was good," Simas said. "I didn't expect Michigan to be anything like it was."

"Michigan has a lot of support," Simas said. "All of Ann Arbor are Michigan fans. It was crazy."
"I wouldn't say I was ready to commit, but Michigan definitely has the edge," Simas said. "I'm going to Oregon this coming weekend."
Besides Michigan and Oregon, Simas will also visit Colorado on November 4th and Arizona State on November 18th."
"I'm pretty sure I'm going to take all my visits before I make my decision."
Simas has had a strong senior season though the team itself has been struggling. He didn't know his exact stats but Simas' said he is averaging five or six questions a game. He does have six touchdowns on the season.
"It has been real hard this season because I'm getting double and triple coverage," Simas said. "Everybody knows about me this year."
The talented athlete from San Diego has also seen action on the defensive side of the ball as a cornerback. Early in the season Simas picked off two passes and since then offenses have refused to throw his man.
Rivals.com ranks Simas as the No. 18 wide receiver prospect for the class of 2007. He is also a member of the Rivals.com California top 100 team landing as the Golden State's No. 27 player at any position.
