Four-star hearing more from Stanford

Ben Humphreys has plenty of impressive offers and he's planning to narrow down his list heading into his senior season.
With all that said, maybe the most noteworthy piece of information Humphreys delivered Saturday at the Battle at the Beach 7on7 tournament is that Stanford is getting more involved especially after he worked out there this summer.

The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star linebacker has a lot of connections to that Pac-12 school and an offer would definitely be a major thing.
"I'm actually hearing a little bit more from Stanford now," Humphreys said. "I went up to camp there. They have a new DB coach and I'd play safety if I went there. I'm talking to him a lot.
"My parents went there, my sister is there but it doesn't automatically mean I'd go there. To go to school with my sister would be great but some other opportunities would be just as good."
The 6-foot-3, 203-pound prospect has already been offered by Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Fresno State, Miami, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon State, Utah, Washington, Washington State, Wisconsin and Yale.
Humphreys, who said Ole Miss is also showing new interest, is planning a significant cut in the coming weeks but the four-star is not giving any hints on which schools will make the list. Some official visits should happen during the season but the Mater Dei recruit is unsure when he'll make his commitment.
"I kind of have a couple schools I'm thinking about," Humphreys said. "Probably around mid-August I will come out with a top three or a top five. No one is in it right now.
"We have a bye week and coach (Bruce) Rollinson is going to let me take one and then we have a Thursday game where we play Westlake so I'll take one then, too. Depending on their schedules will determine where I go on those weekends."
