THE LATEST

The spring has seen plenty of new schools enter the mix for newly-minted four-star Roswell, Ga. wide receiver Corey Reed, but one program that's been in the mix remains at the top of the list. Reed told Rivals.com this week that Louisville still holds a sizable lead, while schools like Miami, Wisconsin, Wake Forest and others are also in the mix. Following an appearance at a Georgia satellite camp on Thursday, Reed discussed the Cardinals as well as the school that could be Louisville's biggest competition for his commitment, Miami.

IN HIS WORDS

On Louisville: "Louisville is my top school. When I first went there I really liked it, especially how the campus is set up. Everything is within walking distance and really close. I also love the coaches. Coach Galloway is a really cool guy. It's just everything about the school I like. I haven't been up there since December but I plan on taking two more visits before the end of the summer. I'm going up there next weekend and then again next month to go to their camp."

On Miami: "I'll be visiting Miami in three weeks. I'm going to go down there and work out. I want to see how they're using their wide receivers. Since Coach Richt is down there I want to see how things are going to be different. They used to use small, quick wide receivers but now I want to see if they're going to use bigger guys like me to their attack."

RIVALS REACTION

Word is that Reed has come very close to committing to the Cardinals already and multiple trips this summer could seal the deal. Other schools are working to get him on campus and Miami will get a look early next month, but right now Louisville sits in a very good spot, especially with Reed likely to announce a decision before the start of his senior season in mid-August.
