Skyler Thornton has added another
visit to his calendar for January.
"I'm going to Clemson on Jan. 20, Martin Luther King
Day," he said. "The only other school I'm considering right now is Oklahoma
State. If I take a fifth visit, it will probably be there."
Thornton, a member of the Rivals.com
Southeast Top 100 team and the
No. 16 running back in the nation, added that the Cowboys have made a late push
for his services. It may be too little too late, though, as he's had long
established ties to Arkansas (1/17), Clemson (1/20), Florida (1/10) and South
Carolina (1/24).
Is there a favorite at this point?
"I'd probably say Florida or Arkansas," he said.
"They've impressed me the most. I'll have to see how my official visits go, but
I like those two a lot right now."
Thornton (6-0, 195, 4.45) finished his senior season
with 1,591 yards, averaging 8 yards per carry, and scored 34 touchdowns. He
rushed for 30 scores and caught four touchdown passes in leading LaGrange to a
12-1 record.
