Four-star forward Zimife Nwokeji hoping to hear from two

1 Family’s team on the 16-under level had several intriguing prospects this past travel season, but the one with potentially the highest ceiling is Zimife Nwokeji. The 6-foot-7 small forward can handle the ball, make plays for himself and others, and is a reliable shot maker.

Most recently, Georgia Tech and Missouri came through and offered the No. 66 ranked prospect in the 2019 class. Notre Dame, Florida State, Michigan and Virginia Tech are among the other schools involved with him right now.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Nwokeji talks about his new offers, Florida State, and two schools he’d like to hear from down the road.

Georgia Tech: “Their coaches said they really like my mechanics, my athleticism and my size. They think I can really handle it and become a good player. I don’t really know much about their program. I just started doing research.”

Missouri: “I know they have a new coaching staff and Coach [Cuonzo] Martin is one of the top coaches in college basketball.”

Florida State: “I know that Coach Hamilton cares about his players. I know they have opened up their offense to where everybody has to be able to handle the ball and shoot.”

On schools he’d like to hear from: “I’d like to hear from Florida and Louisville. Those are good schools. Florida is a little bit closer to home, like a little bit away but not too far. I visited Louisville last year and really liked what I saw.”

RIVALS' REACTION

If he continues to progress at the rate he has been in the past six months, his list of scholarship offers will grow quickly over the next six to nine months. Right now, he’s still open to all schools, but Florida State, Georgia Tech and Missouri have certainly made an early impression on the Rivals150 wing. It will be interesting to see where his recruitment is when his senior year starts.
