Carnell Stewart says this weekend's official visit to Florida
left him impressed by the Gators.
"It
was real nice down there," said Stewart, a member of the Rivals.com
Southeast
Top 100 team and the No. 5 defensive tackle in the nation.
"My host was one of my friends that I played against a couple of years ago
in high school, Sylvester McGrew. We hung out a lot and talked about what
it's like playing down there. We also got to go out to the lake and the
beach. That was fun.
"One of the things that got my attention was their
depth chart for defensive tackles. They don't have a whole lot of guys there
for the future, so there could be a lot of playing time available."
Stewart (6-6, 297, 4.75) -- who had 18 sacks as a senior at John Curtis
Christian -- said he's still up in the air when it comes to naming favorite
schools.
"I've got five or six still," he said. "I think Colorado (12/20), Miami
(1/24), Michigan, LSU (1/17), USC, Florida (1/10) and Oklahoma are all in
there. "I'll decide my fifth and final visit after I get back from Miami."
