Ole Miss continues to stay hot on the recruiting trail. The latest commitment comes from four-star Pascagoula (Miss.) defensive lineman Jeffery Rush.

Rush announced his pledge to the Rebels on Saturday. He picked the in-state school in Oxford over a host of other programs, including the likes of Auburn, Mississippi State, and Texas.

He broke down his decision with Rivals.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Why Ole Miss: “It feels like home,” Rush told Rivals. “I how coach (Randall) Joyner is passionate about the game and us the players. I just love it there.

“They have a plan for me there, and I love it. They are like family, so they have my trust.”

WHAT THIS MEANS

Ole Miss has landed a pair of commitments from four-stat prospects in a span of days. Picayune (Miss.) running back Chris Davis Jr. made his pledge on Thursday. It didn’t take long for Rush to follow suit.

The Magnolia State is loaded with talent, and Lane Kiffin’s staff continues to take advantage. Rush joins an early in-state haul that also features Davis Jr., wide receiver Jeremy Scott, and linebacker Fred Clark.

Rush’s commitment could be just the latest domino in the Rebels’ push to win the state on the trail this cycle.

RIVALS REACTS

Jeffery Rush is a versatile defensive lineman that can play all over the front. He can change the game in the interior while also featuring some juice at end, too.

His commitment gives Ole Miss an impact player at a key position up front for defensive coordinator Pete Golding. Beating out other SEC programs for the Mississippi native is significant.

Rush is ranked as the No. 205 prospect nationality in the 2024 class. He is the No. 9 recruit in Mississippi and No. 10 defensive tackle.
