Keisean Lucier-South was one of a few select prospects to visit UCLA last weekend. He talked a lot with the coaching staff, got a tour around campus and really got to understand how the Bruins see him in their system.
It's a pretty impressive approach.
"We just went there and I talked to the coaching staff," Lucier-South said. "I talked a lot with coach (Jim) Mora and coach (Jeff) Ulbrich and we were talking about how I fit in the program. We did a tour around the whole campus and we watched some of the basketball game and that was really it.
"They see me as an Anthony Barr type of player with all the same schemes and being a pass rusher off the edge and everything like that.
"That's really cool, but I'm not Anthony Barr. It's really a big honor for them to say I'm the next Anthony Barr though."
The four-star defensive end from Orange (Calif.) Lutheran said his recruitment is just taking off so he doesn't have any favorites yet. UCLA cannot be considered a frontrunner since it's so early, but Lucier-South said he definitely likes the Bruins a lot.
"I really like the coaching staff," Lucier-South said. "I have a great relationship with them but I don't really have a leader right now so it doesn't change my recruiting. I really like UCLA right now."
In the coming weeks, the four-star recruit is planning an unofficial visit to USC. There is a good chance this summer he takes some other trips as well.
So far, Lucier-South has landed offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, California, Colorado, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt, Washington and Washington State.
