Four star DE down to four

Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland defensive end Matt Lewis has managed to stay out of the mainstream and keep quiet about his recruitment over the past two months. Thursday evening Rivals.com caught up with Lewis to find out his official visit schedule and found out that there are only four schools left on his list.
"I have a visit set up to Florida for January 28," Lewis said. "I am going to take visits to Middle Tennessee State and Georgia Tech, I have already told them that I would. I don't have a date set on either of those, but one of them will probably be on January 14 and the other on January 21. I am also going to try to take a mid-week visit to LSU, but I am not totally for sure on that yet."

The 6-foot-2, 255-pound Lewis claims a 4.55 second 40-yard dash, 310-pound bench press and 32-inch vertical jump.
"I eliminated Miami because they wanted me to play offense and I only want to play defense," Lewis said. "Florida State has a little bit too much depth for me, they are pretty stacked at defensive end and I want to play early. Tennessee was recruiting me real hard and then they stopped, but they started again last week, but it's just kind of too late for all that at this point. I am pretty much down to LSU, Florida, Middle Tennessee State and Georgia Tech."
As a junior Lewis had 87 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and recovered one fumble. He is ranked as the nation's No. 10 weak side defensive end by Rivals.com.
"I may take all of my visits before I decide, but if I take a visit and see that it is the right place for me I won't hesitate to go ahead and commit," Lewis said. "I am kind of ready to get this over with, plus if you know that you want to go to that school then there is no point in putting off making a decision."
