The list is down to 11 schools for Weatherford, Texas defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore.
After hauling in scholarship offers from all around the country, the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder has decided it was time for a cut. Lewis-Moore says that the schools remaining on his list are all on it for certain reasons.
"It's Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Colorado, and Virginia," Lewis-Moore said. "It's like a group of 11. I narrowed my list down according to the schools that I was interested in and the schools that were recruiting me the most and then showed me that they wanted me to be a part of their program."
As for what's next after getting his list to 11 schools, that is up in the air.
"I don't know yet," Lewis-Moore said. "I don't know when I'm going to cut it to a final five. I don't know what's going to happen, but I decided to take this step in my recruiting."
There were a variety of reasons why Lewis-Moore picked these particular schools.
"Well, I will tell you this, one thing is that the head coaches, I believe from Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Notre Dame, Colorado, and Oklahoma State all came to see me in person," Lewis-Moore said. "That was a really big deal for me. To have the head coach take the time out of his busy schedule, that shows me interest right there."
"Virginia is one of those schools that have been on me early and throughout the whole process. With Wisconsin, coach (Kerry) Cooks, that's the coach I'm probably the closest with. He's a real nice guy. I think I've developed a pretty good relationship with him. With all the schools, it's the amount of interest that they've shown in me and that's why they're on the list."
"With Arkansas and Nebraska, the coach from Arkansas, coach (James) Shibest came down to see me in the spring. He left a good impression on me. Nebraska coach Buddy Wyatt I've talked with and I think he and I hit it off real well."
Though he hasn't figured out which five schools will be that host him for official visit, Lewis-Moore says he's got a pretty good idea of one.
"I'm probably going to Notre Dame on Sept. 21 to watch them play Michigan State," Lewis-Moore said. "That's the only one I know about right now."
A decision won't likely come until Signing Day is just around the corner. Lewis-Moore says that with his birthday being on Jan. 24, he'd like to decide sometime before then.
"Hopefully I can do it before my birthday with Signing Day right around then," Lewis-Moore said.
