Four-star DB now solid

One of the top cornerbacks in the nation made his verbal commitment back in October but for a while he was seriously considering other possibilities. That's no longer the case, as he is now solid to the school he originally committed to.
Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard cornerback Travis Hawkins was scheduled to take an official visit to West Virginia with some of the Mountaineers' other top targets this weekend.

The 5-foot-10, 181-pound four-star recruit opted to skip that trip.
"I'm going to be a Terp," Hawkins said on Sunday afternoon. "I got a new number and couldn't get in touch with any of (West Virginia's) coaches, but I'm going to let them know."
Why does Hawkins feel as though he made the right decision initially?
"It's just close to home. My family can come. Basically the whole community that watched me in high school can come and support me. That's a big thing for me."
Hawkins will actually be on the Maryland campus tonight for the Terrapins' women's basketball game against North Carolina.
He said he has been in regular contact with Ralph Friedgen, James Franklin and Dave Sollazzo from the Maryland coaching staff.
