Four-star DB Julius Irvin talks Michigan trip
Julius Irvin was at Michigan this past weekend, for the Michigan State game, for the incredible rainstorm in Ann Arbor, for a lot of other reasons, mainly to see if it would be the best fit for him.
The four-star defensive back from Anaheim (Calif.) Servite wanted to get a better sense of what it would be like to be a Michigan football player and student throughout the weekend.
Irvin had a great time.
“Michigan was a great visit,” Irvin said.
“It’s an honor to have an opportunity to visit such a prestigious university. Meeting the coaches and players was really big for me as I got a good feel of the team.”
A major part of the weekend for Irvin, who has a top five of Michigan, Notre Dame, Washington, USC and Utah, was meeting with the coaching staff and spending some time with coach Jim Harbaugh.
The four-star was definitely impressed by Michigan’s coach.
“He’s a genius,” Irvin said of Harbaugh.
“I respect him a lot. The coaches were cool and they have such a great staff there.”
The Anaheim Servite standout has now taken visits to Notre Dame, Washington and Michigan this fall. He expects to visit his two other favorites – USC and Utah – soon before making a decision.
