Four-star Chris Murray on Notre Dame: Great time

Chris Murray was thrilled when he landed his offer from Notre Dame. The Irish would clearly become one of the schools under serious consideration.

That ramped up even more after the four-star offensive lineman from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei visited South Bend this past weekend for Notre Dame’s thrashing of USC.

“I had a great time this weekend at Notre Dame,” Murray said. “That game atmosphere was unreal and really got me hyped. Their fan support is unreal. I got a lot of time to talk with the coaches which I enjoyed.”

In town with Mater Dei teammates five-star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and four-star linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu among many other prospects, Murray had a few specific memorable moments from the weekend.

“Highlights for me was being able to watch the Notre Dame march up close to the stadium, and of course seeing that dominant win over USC,” Murray said. “I wasn't sure what to think but ND exceeded my expectations a lot.”

There will be other visits before a decision comes for Murray, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound four-star offensive guard who has helped Mater Dei dominate this season. It is arguably the best high school team in the country.

Murray said he’s planning an official trip to Arizona and he will also take one to Stanford although neither date has been determined yet.

The four-star has already visited Utah and the Utes should remain high on his list since he’s developed a strong relationship with position coach Jim Harding and they were the first team to offer Murray, not something he’s going to easily forget.
