Adarius Pickett has scheduled his first official visit to UCLA for later this month and a second trip is being worked on as well.
The four-star cornerback from El Cerrito, Calif., said a trip to USC is planned but he's not sure when he'll be able to take it because of his schedule. That is something that's being considered as the season gets closer.
"I'm really looking forward to (the UCLA trip)," Pickett said. "UCLA is a good school. I like all the coaches there. I want to see how they coach during the game and how the players are going to play so I'm excited about that.
"I think I'm going to take one to USC but I don't know when. We're going to have to see how our schedule goes."
Pickett, a 6-foot, 185-pound prospect, said he'll probably coordinate his USC trip with El Cerrito teammate Derik Calhoun, who pledged to the Trojans this summer.
Other official visits are being considered but Pickett does not have anything firm yet. The four-star is supposed to release a top 7 soon with USC, UCLA, California and Arizona State expected to make the cut, but nothing has been finalized.
The El Cerrito standout has taken the short drive over to a few Cal practices recently, and Pickett said he likes the setting in Berkeley.
The Golden Bears are definitely working on the high-end local recruits and Pickett said he's been impressed.
"I went to two or three practices," Pickett said. "The staff is really nice. They're looking to have a good season so we'll see what happens when they play against Northwestern and Ohio State and teams like that."
