Four-star CB down to five

Michael Carter is a four-star cornerback prospect and a member of the Rivals250 from Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely High School. Carter, 5-10 and 154, is the No. 10 rated cornerback in the nation. He comes from the same school as Patrick Johnson (LSU) and both remain close.
"We learned a lot from watching what Patrick went through last season in recruiting," said his father, Michael Carter. "It was a big and trying experience for him and we learned from it."

According to his father Carter has narrowed his field to five schools - Florida, Miami, Georgia, West Virginia, and Minnesota.
"Right now he's open. We will start setting up visits in three weeks or so. I know he will go to Gainesville (unofficially) for the Florida/Miami game. That's it for now."
Ely will play Lauderhill (Fla.) Plantation in a Kickoff Classic next weekend. Carter will be used a variety of ways this season, playing cornerback, wide receiver, and return kicks.
This summer Carter camped at Florida, Georgia and Top Gun. He also attended a Miami practice. Carter is on track to graduate early, although he may opt to graduate with his classmates in May.
