Ranked as the nation's No. 18 cornerback, Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods star Chris Williams has been a wanted man with college coaches.
While some of the bigger schools have been waiting for him to clear up some of his academic hurdles, that's still not stopped him from adding even more offers to his resume.
"I picked up new offers from Kent State and Indiana," Williams said. "I already had offers from Cincinnati, Minnesota, West Virginia, Akron and Ohio. Most of the other schools want to see me in camp or also wait and see what happens with my academics."
Williams is looking forward to an upcoming visit to West Virginia. He said the Mountaineers have let him know that he's a top prospect for them.
"I am going the 29th of June, but I don't know if I will do the camp," he said. "I want to take a tour. They offered me already, so I don't know if they want me to do the camp. I just want to look around at the facilities and stuff."
Minnesota is another school that has made him an early offer that has caught his eye.
"It surprised me," he said. "I didn't know if anybody else was going to offer me. The thing that shocked me was I didn't follow Minnesota football and they told me they went 1-11. I was like 'wow.' I mean if a I believe a school can really turn things around, and they want me to help I, would be interested in that."
Williams could also take some other unofficial visits this summer.
"One school I'm going to check out is Virginia Tech," he said. "They might not be taking anyone at my position. But that's a school I really want to go to. So I might go up there for an unofficial visit."
