Bryan Addison recently said he was planning to make his commitment shortly after his Washington visit.

That trip has come and gone but the four-star two-way standout from Gardena (Calif.) Serra has still not made his pledge.

After UCLA fired Jim Mora, and then hired Chip Kelly, Addison said he wants to take more time to figure things out and learn more about the Bruins’ new coach.

Early on, Addison said UCLA moves even higher on his list.

“It’s a big move for UCLA and my interest in UCLA has risen,” Addison said.

The four-star who stands out at receiver and safety has a top group of Nebraska, UCLA, Arizona State, Michigan and Arizona. Washington is also now being considered after a great visit to Seattle.

As for when Addison plans to meet with Kelly, the Serra standout targeted an upcoming official visit to Westwood that could end up being really important.

“I plan on meeting him on my official visit on December 8,” Addison said.

On Monday, Addison had his first opportunity to talk with Kelly and the four-star loved what he heard from the new UCLA coach.

Kelly’s message was that Addison could be used on offense and defense.

“He was fired up about me on both sides of the ball and he can’t wait to get to meet me face-to-face,” Addison said.

The Serra recruit ended up with 44 tackles at safety this season. At receiver, Addison had 46 catches for 582 yards and a team-high nine touchdowns.
