CINCINNATI -- After fielding more than 50 scholarship offers, Cincinnati Winton Woods four-star offensive tackle George Brown announced a commitment to Florida.

"I picked the University of Florida because of the coaches there, I know some of the players there and it seems like a great fit for me," Brown said. "I have a great relationship with Coach (Mike) Summers, and he has known my dad for awhile. Also, the people around the campus, you can tell they actually care about you."
Brown announced at his high school and pulled out a live baby gator before slipping on an orange Florida baseball cap (see below).
Brown is one of the more sociable prospects in the 2015 class, and he has familiarized himself with the players in Gainesville and incoming recruits during his visits to the campus.
"I have been talking Chaz Green a lot, Duke Dawson and David Sharpe," Brown said. "They say they like it a lot down there. Chaz Green, I think, is going to be a fifth-year senior and he said he's loved it, it's a great place to be and I should come there.
"The commits I have already been talking to are Tyler Jordan, Jerome Baker and Marcus Lewis. There are a lot of people right now that haven't committed who I know will pretty soon, so I think this class has a chance to be top two. I will definitely be very active and hopefully we can get those people and a few more to commit."
Florida plans to utilize the 6-foot-6, 267-pound Brown in a left tackle role, and he relishes the opportunity to fight for a starting spot.
"I like the opportunity a lot," Brown said. "With any school I'd have to go in and work hard, and that's what I am going to do. I am definitely excited to go against the top defensive ends in the college football. It gets you ready for the NFL and more scouts will be there to watch you."
Brown's five finalists were all SEC schools, and playing in that conference was a factor as he looked at where he wanted to continue his career. Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and LSU were Brown's other considerations.
"It's the best conference out there right now, and I want to play against the best," Brown said.
Brown is ranked as the No. 118 overall player in the 2015 class and the No. 13 offensive tackle prospect. He is the second state of Ohio prospect to commit to the Gators this month, following four-star linebacker Jerome Baker's pledge on July 11.
