Four-star Brooks is a Tiger

Four-star athlete Ron Brooks has pulled off a surprise.
Just a few hours ago, Brooks' coach was talking about how he was excited to sort things out with his remaining visits to LSU and Florida. Now it appears he's decided against thinking and was ready to make his commitment.

Brooks delivered a commitment to LSU on Thursday afternoon and says that he's all done with recruiting.
"Coach Todd Monken was a big reason and I got along real well with him," Brooks said. "When I first met him, I couldn't help but like him. I also got a chance to meet coach Les Miles in person. I got along with him right off the bat too.
"I've been thinking about LSU for a few months. I was trying to wait until the end to take all of my visits. But, now I can work on my grades and finish out my senior year."
Brooks says that his originally planned visit to Florida later this month has apparently been cancelled since committing. The Gators also intrigued Brooks but not enough to land his pledge.
"Florida just won the championship, but you have to understand, Tim Tebow will be the quarterback and he likes to run the ball," Brooks said. "I also know that Percy Harvin has still got three years."
Brooks says that he'll still be making his originally scheduled visit to LSU on Jan. 19.
