LONG BEACH, Calif. – Aashari Crosswell has already taken one official visit this season and he’s looking forward to another one soon.

The four-star defensive back from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly is planning a trip to Washington, a school he’s been talking to for years, and he’s excited to finally see what the Huskies have to offer.

“I’ve been planning on taking an official to Washington,” Crosswell said after Long Beach Poly lost to Mission Viejo on Friday night.

“I’ve been talking to the coaching staff and I’ve been telling them that I want to go out there and see how it is. I’ve already been to Nebraska so right now I’m just focused on that, just going out there and feeling the environment.”

Crosswell has been in communication with the Washington coaching staff since his freshman season and he’s developed a strong relationship with defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake.

Getting up to campus is a top priority for the four-star standout.

“With Washington, I’ve been talking to them since sophomore or freshman year,” Crosswell said.

“They’ve been sending me mail and I’ve always been talking to them. With Washington I have a good relationship with coach Lake. He always hits me up on Twitter and he always sends me mail so it’s been great.”

The Nebraska trip earlier this season definitely set the tone for Crosswell’s remaining trips. He had an excellent time in Lincoln as the Huskers remain a priority in his recruitment.

“Nebraska was crazy,” Crosswell said.

“The atmosphere was amazing. My mom and I enjoyed ourselves. They treated us right. It was just a good visit. I got to meet the whole coaching staff and they were pretty cool. They were forward with me and honest with me. They really want me bad. I have to decide on that because I don’t know if I want to stay out here or not.”

No other visits are scheduled at this time but Crosswell said he does want to take others before reaching a decision.
