Longview (Texas) running back JaMycal Hasty has been a big-time target on the radar of college coaches since his freshman year. He holds offers from the likes of Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas and Oklahoma State, and as he looks at the recruiting process four programs have begun to stand out.
"Recruiting wise it's pretty much at a standstill right now," Hasty said. "Like I said, I think I have a top four, not in any particular order, but I think I have a top four now.
"I say Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, and Oklahoma State. I like their offenses. I love their position coaches, the running back coaches. I'm establishing a relationship with those guys and they're good towns to be in. They're nice college towns."
The Rivals250 running back is already filling up his schedule with college trips and has a few stops coming up soon.
"I plan on going to Texas A&M for a junior day, and I plan on going up to Stillwater to visit because it will be my first time, and I'll get back out to Texas Tech," Hasty said.
Last Friday, Hasty attended the Army Combine in San Antonio, where he recorded a vertical leap of 33.5-inches and a sub-4.4 forty-yard dash time. By all accounts, it was a great experience.
"I've been competing with people from all over the United States - Florida, California, Tennessee, just everywhere," Hasty said. "To be honest with you, I didn't know this many people were going to be coming from everywhere and to be able to compete against elite talent from everywhere was just amazing."
Hasty is currently ranked No. 190 in the first 2015 Rivals250 rankings.
