Class of 2015 5-star wide receiver Calvin Ridley is taking it slow when it comes to the recruiting process, but he said Saturday that he knows four schools that starting to stand out above the crowd.
"Alabama, Clemson, Louisville and Georgia are the four that are sticking out," the nation's No. 11 overall player said. "I want to make sure I get to visit all of them in the next few months."
Ridley said traditional power Alabama has made it clear that he's a priority.
"I talk to them a lot and they really like me," he said. "They really want me to come up there for a visit so we can get a look at the school and get a feel for what they have to offer."
The Tide coaches have made it clear they think Ridley can be an important part of the offense.
"They said they think I can have a big impact," he said. "They're going to put the offense around us and they want me to fill some of the shoes of the guys that are leaving."
Right now Ridley is a slender 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, but he said that won't the case for long if he ends up in Tuscaloosa.
"They said they're going to get me big, put some more weight on me and bulk me up," Ridley said.
He also provided quick thoughts on some of the other schools on his list:
Clemson: "I love their offense. I fit in really well. I'm going to visit there, too."
Louisville: "I like what they did in their bowl game and their coaches like me a lot. He always writes me and tells me I can have a big impact because by the time I get there all their receivers will be gone."
Georgia: "The receiver coach is very cool. We text each other all the time. They have a good receiving corps. I like it there I just have to go visit and get a better look."
Overall, Ridley said he expects his upcoming unofficial visits to provide him with some clarity.
"I want to see a lot of schools and I think that will help clear things up," he said.
