Four in-state offers for Ferguson

Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan wide receiver Justin Ferguson is starting to see his offers increase. He is now sitting at four offers, all from in-state schools.
"I was told Miami did, but I haven't heard it from them personally," Ferguson said. "UCF has, Florida State has, and UF has. Florida State was the first school to offer me."

The 6-2, 205-pound wideout still remembers when he landed that first verbal offer from the Seminoles, and what it meant about all of the hard work he had put in on the football field leading up to that point.
"I was very excited," Ferguson said. "I know coming from Philadelphia (as a sophomore) I didn't have a very successful season but I did better as a junior at Flanagan. So when I got that first offer I was very excited. It is just more motivation for me to work harder and get more scholarships."
In the past month, Ferguson has hit the road for a few unofficial visits to Junior Days.
"I have been to UM twice, I went to Florida State last month, and I actually just got back from Gainesville this past weekend," Ferguson said.
He talked about what he learned about each of those three schools.
Florida: "It was a good experience, I liked it a lot. Their field is great, they have really nice facilities, and they have a great education system which is my primary focus when selecting a school."
Miami: "UM was really good. After checking in with the coaches, all of the coaches, I got to learn a lot about their education system and they have a very good one too, which is my main focus."
Florida State: "I really like Florida State. Their facilities are really good. I got a chance to meet the players and the coaches."
Ferguson, who plans to attend a Junior Day in late March at UCF, said that all three of the schools he has visited made a positive impression.
"I liked all of the schools," Ferguson said. "There wasn't really anything I didn't like about them."
At this point, two schools have moved to the forefront of his list due to their consistent efforts in recruiting him.
"My leader would be who is showing the most interest in me," Ferguson said. "As of right now the schools that are showing the most interest in me would be either Florida State or the University of Florida."
While the Seminoles and Gators have an early lead, Ferguson is in no rush to decide and admits other schools could easily move up for his services in the coming weeks and months.
"At this point I am just waiting for all of my offers to come in," Ferguson said. "I am hoping to commit before my senior season starts."
As a junior, Ferguson recorded 44 receptions for 953 yards and 12 touchdowns.
