Four ACC schools eying Virginia QB

Richmond (Va.) The Collegiate School junior Jake McGee has to be regarded as one of the top all-around athletes in the region when it comes to athletes graduating in 2010.
The 6-foot-5, 210-pound quarterback runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds and is deceptively fast because of his long stride, and he also excels on the basketball court.

He has received interest from schools for his abilities in both sports but he's particularly excited about the four schools that want to check him out behind center.
"Recruiting has picked up a little bit," McGee explained. "Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Duke have all come by the school.
"I think they all got my tape and they want to look at that. They all said they'd be keeping in contact with me. I guess it's a pretty high interest level but I think they want to see me throw."
Those schools will have that opportunity at some point. McGee plans on attending the Elite 11 quarterback camp at Penn State and will attend a NIKE event at UVa.
He was scheduled to attend a junior day at Duke at the end of January but had to miss because of a basketball game.
As a junior last fall McGee estimates that he passed for about 3,500 yards with about 32 passing touchdowns and five rushing scores. He also scored two defensive touchdowns from his free safety position.
"I think I'll be recruited as a QB," he said. "Either as a QB or an athlete, but I definitely want to play QB. I'd at least like to go to a school as a quarterback.
"I don't have any big favorites but I like all four of the schools that came by. Just them showing interest puts them up there. I'll look at any school with good academics or anyone that comes by my school."
