Former Vanderbilt QB winds up at JUCO

In 2001, David Koral signed with Vanderbilt after a stellar career at
Palisades High School in California.

He did not stay long.
Koral left Vanderbilt after one semester and transferred to Santa Monica (Calif.) College, where he will be the team's starting quarterback in 2002.
"They fired the coach and were going to the
option at Vanderbilt," Koral said. "I am a pure drop-back passer. Plus, I kind of felt I rushed my decision the first time around."
Not this time.
Koral says he is going to take all of his visits and then decide.
"I am getting letters from Tennessee, Michigan St, California, Washington and Clemson," Koral said. "I have spoken with the coaches at Cal and Clemson."
Koral redshirted in his one season at Vanderbilt so he will be a redshirt freshman at Santa Monica this fall and will be able to sign somewhere in December and have three years to play three.
Koral, who is 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, holds the all-time California single game passing yardage record.
