Ahman Ross’ commitment to Miami is firmly in the past. It’s not forgotten, but the dust has settled on his decision to break it. Now a recruiting free agent of sorts, the three-star defensive back has his eye on a handful of other programs.
He doesn’t mind naming off the schools that have his attention.
“I’ll give a couple leaders,” Ross said. “I’d probably say Louisville, Kentucky and West Virginia.”
Ross, who attends Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles high school is yet to visit any of his leaders, but plans to rectify that in the near future. For him, the month ahead will serve as a recruiting reset of sorts.
“I’m going to hit three schools in July, Ross said. “I’m going to hit Indiana, Kentucky and Louisville.”
Ross plans to announce a decision during the season but could wait until after should he feel unprepared to make a choice.
IN HIS WORDS: “Louisville, Indiana and Kentucky all see me as versatile,” Ross said. “They see me as a safety, but they think I can play the nickel and cover the slot.”
RIVALS REACTION: Kentucky seems to hold a slight edge at the time being, but Ross’ pecking order will likely be established by upcoming visits. When he returns from Louisville and Kentucky, he should do so with a greater grasp of where each program stands.
