MIAMI -- Frank Ladson won’t sign a letter of intent for roughly a year, but the class-of-2019 wide recover already has one verbal commitment in the books. A one-time member of Florida’s 2019 class, Ladson backed off his pledge to the Gators on Dec. 5 in the midst of the program’s coaching change.

And while the four-star wide receiver says UF is still very much alive in the race to land him, there are plenty of other schools now in the mix.

“I’m taking a look at every school,” Ladson, who holds more than 15 offers, said on Saturday. “I know I’m going to be visiting Georgia and Clemson this month.”

Ladson already holds scholarship offers from the Tigers and Bulldogs and says he’s in frequent contact with both staffs. The upcoming visits are a product of such conversations.

“With Clemson – and with Georgia, really – they just tell me about how important I am to them and me being a top priority,” Ladson said. “I’m excited to go visit both and see what’s up.”

Ladson says he stays in close touch with coaches at Miami in addition to UGA and Clemson. Florida State and Penn State have also recently entered the mix and are thought to be mulling scholarship offers.

The 6-foot-4 Ladson attends Florida's South Dade High School. He is ranked as the No. 28 receiver and the No. 145 overall prospect in teh class of 2019.

RIVALS REACTION: There’s no telling where Ladson’s recruitment will go from here. Ladson says he has made contact with the Gators’ new staff and will consider Florida going forward. This offseason could shape his opinion, though, as he intends to visit UF in addition to the other schools he mentions as serious players.
