Football or lacrosse for LB Smith

Junior linebacker Spencer Smith out of McMurray (Pa.) Peters Township is a prospect that has already received major interest from the Big Ten and Big East. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is also one of the top lacrosse players in the country. Will Spencer decide to go with football in college?
"I really don't know which way he's leaning," said Peters Township head coach Keith Hartbauer. "I know academics are important to him and he wants the best education possible along with a school that can fill his athletic needs."

So far Smith has received interest from Michigan State, Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Ohio State and Northwestern.
"He gets about five letters a day, but he's a pretty level headed kid that'll look at the process," he said. "I believe if Penn State jumps on him, he would probably like to go there since he's been to their camp a couple times."
What makes the linebacker prospect stand out?
"He runs really well and has great movement especially laterally. He can move very quickly sideline to sideline," he said. "His strength and explosion are very good as well and he has good hands. Spencer is also very coachable."
