Football comes naturally for some

BATON ROUGE, La. - It seems that living in Baton Rouge, it would be any kid's dream to play for LSU. However, when your Baton Rouge (La.) Tara linebacker Cory Chappell and you've moved around a lot, that's not necessarily the case.
"I am an aggressive linebacker," Chappell said. "I have the ability to read the play real fast. I read the run first and then I drop back into pass coverage. I will hit you, I'm an aggressor and I love to pack a punch. I am working on my speed, I am trying to do a lot of jumping rope and drills."

The 6-foot-2, 201-pound Chappell runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds, has a 245-pound bench press and 365-pound squat.
"Right now I have offers from Texas Tech and New Mexico State," Chappell said. "I talk to Princeton, LSU, Florida a lot. They are all recruiting me pretty hard. I haven't made up my mind yet, I am going to let the season play out and go from there."
During his junior campaign Chappell racked up 79 tackles and four sacks.
"I have only lived here about three years," Chappell said. "I was born in Ohio, but I have lived in New Hampshire, Georgia, Massachusetts, all over the place. I am an LSU fan, its hard not to be once you have lived here for a while."
Chappell is ranked as the No. 32 player in the state of Louisiana by Rivals.com.
"I never really even planned on playing football to be honest," Chappell said. "I had only played one year before I came here. Then one of my friends here talked to it and I picked it up pretty quickly I guess. I learned you had to work hard, but once I got in the flow things came pretty natural."
