Foose gives Illini high marks

More than a week ago three-star offensive tackle Dan Foose took an official visit to Illinois.
It was the first time the 6-foot-6, 310-pound prospect has been in Big Ten country and it was the first official visit of the recruiting process for him.

While he doesn't yet have anything to compare it to, according to Foose, the visit stood on it's own merits.
"Yeah, I took an official to Illinois," he said, recalling the weekend the Illini took on Penn State. "It was really nice being out there. I've never been to that part of the country.
"All the coaches and kids were awesome. It felt like I was around my own teammates. The big thing that stuck out for me was the weight room and the weight coach. The development there seems really good. When he took over I think one kid could power clean 300 pounds. Now they have something like 42 guys that can. It was some real high number in a short time."
The Illini have put themselves in serious contention with Foose, although he still isn't sure what his time frame for everything is.
"They're definitely up there. I'll probably try to get out there again sometime. I'm still deciding about everything and focusing mostly on my season.
"I don't have any more visits set up yet. I've narrowed it a little bit but it's still the main schools that it has been -- Rutgers, Boston College, Illinois, Central Florida, Stanford and Cincinnati."
Foose is ranked the No. 53 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 10 overall prospect in New Jersey by Rivals.com.
