Foose focused on eight

Paramus (N.J.) Catholic junior offensive guard Danny Foose can make a case for being one of the top Class of 2010 prospects in New Jersey for several reasons.
The 6-foot-6, 305-pound lineman has a frame and a build that most high school juniors don't even approach, so he's already being looked at as a potential early contributor in the college ranks.

More importantly, however, is that Foose has already picked up an offer from Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights have done a good job of keeping a lot of New Jersey's top talent at home and are excellent talent evaluators of the prospects in the state.
"Recruiting is going really well for me right now. I received my first written offer from Rutgers about two weeks ago," Foose said.
"I've also received several verbal offers as well. I recently attended junior days at Rutgers and Boston College. Both of those went really well and the coaching staffs from both schools said that I'm one of their top offensive line recruits."
This weekend Foose was planning on attending the junior day to be held at Maryland. He also plans on attending similar events at North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, and perhaps others such as UConn, Pitt, Syracuse and Miami.
"I'm hearing from all of those schools as well as a bunch of others, like Alabama, UCLA, Penn State and West Virginia.
"In terms of the offers, I've got the written one from Rutgers and some verbals, but I don't like to mention who they're from until I have them in writing."
While it's still early, Foose has already pretty much narrowed his focus to eight schools, with one standing out on top of everyone. That said, anything could change down the road.
"As of right now I'm really interested in Rutgers, Boston College, UNC, NC State, Penn State, Virginia, Maryland and Alabama," he explained. "Rutgers is my favorite.
"It's a long process and I'm sure I'll be hearing from more schools so I'm open to everyone. Sometime in the summer after I take more unofficials I'll narrow down my list to about five schools with a goal of making a decision before my senior season."
