Fonti explains decision

Earlier today Wayne (N.J.) Wayne Hills offensive tackle Chris Fonti became the third prospect to commit to Rutgers from the Class of 2010.
The 6-foot-7, 305-pound prospect had received offers from East Carolina, FIU, Delaware and Louisville prior to making his decision, and now he's glad to have that decision behind him.

"I think it was mainly the coaches," Fonti explained Monday evening. "The coaches and how close it is. I feel very comfortable with coach (Kyle) Flood and coach (Greg) Schiano.
"I've felt comfortable with them probably since my sophomore year, and with coach Schiano probably since last year. They were excited when I told them. They knew that Rutgers was the right place for me.
"I'm definitely glad to have it over. Now I can play my senior season and have fun with it without having to worry about all that other stuff going on."
Is this a solid commitment or does Fonti plan on checking out other schools down the road?
"I think I'm pretty much done with the whole process," he said.
In the end the talented tackle said his decision came down to Rutgers, Pitt and Louisville, but he said it was an easy decision, as Rutgers was in the back of his mind the entire time.
Fonti said he may take another visit to Rutgers in the next couple of weeks.
