Floyd breaks record , sets trips

Three-star running back Jamal Floyd (5-11, 185, 4.5) from Claremont, Calif., bolted himself into the record books with an outstanding performance against Los Osos last week when dashed for 427 yards and a new Inland Empire single game rushing record.
Floyd has had an outstanding senior season in 2003 and when you take into account that he missed two games with a high ankle sprain you are even more impressed.

During one stretch this season Floyd rushed for over 1,000 yards over a four game span.
“I think Jamal is the total package,” Claremont head coach Michael Collins said. “He’s a hard nosed running back with great speed.”
“Jamal isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to get you the tough yard,” Collins said. “He’s also a good pass receiver and an outstanding blocker.”
After a slow start for Claremont high and now with a healthy Floyd, the team is hitting on all cylinders. Claremont started off slowly with 1-4 record now they have won four straight league games and is playoff bound.
Floyd has two visits set and two other trips without dates. The visits that have dates are Colorado State. He will visit the Fort Collins campus on December 5th.
The following week Floyd will be heading for Manhattan, Manhattan Kansas that is and will visit Kansas State.
Floyd will also visit Colorado and Oregon but the visit dates are not set yet.
The last visit could go to Texas A&M as the Aggies have recently offered Floyd.
Washington, Connecticut, Kansas, and Wake Forest have also offered Floyd a ride.
Rivals.com rates Floyd as the nation’s number 19 all-purpose running back and he is also a member of the Rivals.com California Top 100 team and rated as the Golden State’s number 72 prospect at any position.
