Hakeem Flowers had a very nice month of September. This junior wide receiver from the state of South Carolina already has a truck load of scholarship offers from schools like South Carolina, Clemson, LSU, Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Michigan State, Arkansas, Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, N.C. State, Syracuse, Rutgers and others.
"I really had no idea it would be like this," Flowers said. "Not at all. I am just very happy with all of them. Florida State was the first to offer and Michigan State was the latest. Both in-state schools (Clemson and South Carolina) as well as teams like LSU, Miami, UNC, and Tennessee."
Last weekend Flowers made his first unofficial visit to a game this season. He took in Georgia Tech hosting the University of North Carolina.
"I went last weekend and I liked the atmosphere there at Georgia Tech. It was nice, although I didn't have a chance to talk with the coaches there. I had to leave
"I am pretty wide open with the whole process. Right now I am sitting back and watching the teams and seeing how everyone is doing. Everyone is recruiting me as a receiver, although FSU likes at both wide receiver and safety.
"Academics, the coaching staff and playing time are things I am really looking at."
Flowers, 6-3 and 180 pounds is from Greenville Wade Hampton. They are 3-3 on the season.
"We have already played six games. I think I have improved as a receiver. I am a better route runner. That was the main thing I was working on in off-season. The strength of my game is making plays on the ball. I am good in the air and can make people miss."
