Floridian Mason decides on the Big Ten

Delray Beach (Fla.) Boca Raton defensive lineman Kendall Mason made an official visit to Northwestern this weekend. That's all Mason needed to know he wants to play his college football in Big Ten country.
"I was thinking about visiting West Point and Bucknell, but since I committed to Northwestern I won't be taking them," Mason said.

Mason found much to his liking on his trip to Evanston and his first hand look at the Wildcats program.
"It went great there," Mason said. "It was everything I expected in to be.
"The players were good. The coaching staff is amazing. They know what they are doing. The program will contend for the Big Ten championship next year."
The 6-foot-1 and 270-pound Mason made 52 tackles including six sacks during his senior season.
