Floridian commits to Green Wave

Tulane has added a verbal commitment from the Sunshine State.
Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln tight end Craig Gelhardt, who is 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, pledged to head coach Chris Scelfo and the Green Wave last week.

"Probably the major reason I committed was the education there," Gelhardt said. "Tulane offers a great education. I don't think with the choices that I had I couldn't have gotten a better education from any other college. When I went there last weekend I loved the coaches, loved the players and loved the campus. I really liked the business school which is probably what I'm going to major in."
Tulane is interested in Gelhardt's long snapping abilities.
"I'm being recruited mainly as a long snapper but they said I'll probably work in as a tight end also," Gelhardt said.
Gelhardt, who expects to redshirt at Tulane this fall, canceled a visit to UCF this weekend and was also considering Middle Tennessee and Connecticut.
